  • The 2008 event will be its 39th year.

  • Emirates Airline has been the official sponsor of the Dubai Rugby Sevens since 1988.

  • The first day consists of local and international invitational teams in action with days two and three seeing the 16 international sides compete for the Emirates International Trophy.

  • Over 1,750 players will take part.

  • More than 12,000 overseas visitors will attend.

  • The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is the first round of the International Rugby Board Sevens World Series.

  • New Zealand is the reigning Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens champions.

  • The three-day event is brought to a close with 'Rugby Rock' featuring a international act yet to be announced.

  • Tickets will be available from October onwards.
